This is a factory refurbished non-modeling Lumedyne Head that has a 800ws AFSE standard flashtube in it. The Head's cable and connector are in good shape. The reflector is in reasonable shape and a diffusor cover is included.
This Head has a one year warranty against any electrical or physical failure. However, while the flashtube is tested and working fine, it is not warranted.
AFSE Flashtubes fit all of the standard Flash Heads such as the Classic #001 and #002 Heads that had no modeling light feature. They also fit the new Extra Small Basic Heads HSBC.
The Flashtubes push/pull straight in/out and they will last for tens of thousands of flashes or one face down fall onto a hard surface.
Any of the Heads that have a modeling light would use the AFTE instead of this one.
AFTE Flashtubes fit all of the existing Lumedyne Flash Heads with or without the modeling light feature. They also fit in the new Extra Small Heads. They can be used at low power as well but should not be used above 800ws per Head as that is the upper rating of this flashtube's performance.

Any of the Heads can use this flashtube, however, the modeling lamp itself is separate and this flashtube does not convert a non-modeling Head to have that feature.
The Basic Signature Head is very strong with the square metal shell but it's still only about one pound. It's sold separately from the Head Cables to allow you to select from 5 to 20 foot options. It works with any Lumedyne Head Cable or Head Extension Cable.
The Head originally does include the reflector, 2 diffusors, a metal snoot and the 800ws Flashtube and a 25 watt modeling bulb.
The Deluxe Signature Head is very strong with the square metal shell but it's still only about one pound. It's sold separately from the Head Cables to allow you to select from 5 to 20 foot options. It works with any Lumedyne Head Cable or Head Extension Cable. The adjustable beep that indicates that it is ready again works with all of the Power Packs.
The Head originally does include the reflector, 2 diffusors, a metal snoot and the 800ws Flashtube and a 25 watt modeling bulb. Deluxe Heads are compatible with some separate TTL Modules from Metz™ for limited digital cameras and most film cameras but not Canon™, Nikon™ or similar digital cameras.
The Next Generation Heads look the closest to the old classic design because they have the round cylindrical shape to the body. The attached 3-7 foot long Coiled Head Cord will connect to any Lumedyne Power Pack.
The HERC has an 800ws flashtube and a modeling light. There are two sync jacks on the rear of the Head, both the household style and the mini-phone sockets are available.

The Extra Small Basic Heads are the best value of our Flash Head options. They have high quality circuits and the same flashtubes in a smaller molded enclosure so they are also less expensive. They are electronically the same as the larger heads except for the lack of the household sync jack.
It is true that the Basic Extra Small Heads are the only ones currently offered without a modeling light which is one of the reasons that it is less expensive than all the rest of the Lumedyne Heads. It also saves money by avoiding duplicating the Power Pack's ready indicator on the Head. This is the best value for a Flash Head that just flashes, and does it well.
This Head includes a grid and diffusor set with the reflector and standard non-modeling Flashtube (AFSE).
The Extra Small Modeling Head is the smallest and least expensive Flash Head with a modeling light. It has high quality circuits and the same modeling flashtubes and modeling bulb, just in a smaller molded enclosure. The HSML is electronically the same as the larger heads except for the lack of the household sync connector.
This is an awesome Head for on a camera bracket or boom arm since it is so small and lightweight. If you wanted to use it on a light stand, it has twin 1/4-20 mounts for the stand and an accessory of your choice.
This Head includes a grid and diffusor set with the reflector, a Modeling Bulb (AMBR) and 800ws Modeling Flashtube (AFTE).
